Lubeing your chain for supermoto

Just a way to keep your chain in good condition

1.The equipment you will need is
Wire brush, small paint brush, chain degreaser, chain lube, chain wax

2. first by proping your bike on to a centre stand
3. Then spray the chain degreaser all over the chain
4. Give the chain a good clean with the paint brush
(make sure the chain is compleatly clean)
5. spin the back wheel and spray the chain lube all over the chain
6. rub into the rollers with wire brush
7. let soke in for 5-6 mins
8. spray chain wax all over chain and let soke in
9. clean all around the chain as soon as possible

Thank you

Re: Lubeing your chain for supermoto

I take the chain off, then dunk it in a vat of petrol leave to stew overnight, then give it a good brush, rinse in petorol hang up to dry, then while its still hanging up I spray putoline chain lube on it and before it dries off I give it a rub down with a soft rag (to remove the excess), I then spray it with Silicone lubricant and allow to dry, then re-fit the night before the bike is due to be used.
A bit of a palaver but remember that a clean well lubed chain will save over 2BHP on one that's not been looked after (I know Ive seen it proved on a dyno!)

i boil my chain in oil!!

it works amazingly
all u need is a saucepan and one of those things u put chips in and enough oil to cover the top when its boiling
(recomend you use a camping stove outside though )

Re: Lubeing your chain for supermoto

its great because the oil gets in the gaps and hardens into like grease lol

And makes the chain nice and stiff. loosing you 2-3BHP in the process, until the grease has worked its way back out

Re: Lubeing your chain for supermoto

'hardens like grease'

meaning its not stiff, u retard.. lol... its grease, maening the oil doesnt dripp out of it, means it settles in the chain, not literally hardens
