Re: ** Fuel Gauge **

Just use your reserve to get to the fuel station

Iv never really understood how the reserve works, does it restrict fuel flow or something till you can fill up ? And when will i know to start using reserve ?

There are 2 pipes sticking up from tap into the tank. The long one is the normal one you use and the short one is reserve. Best fuel gauge is to use the Speedo to figure how far you can go till you need reserve then reset the distance when you fill up.

Re: ** Fuel Gauge **

The reserve switch allows you to draw fuel from the very bottom of your tank where as the main takes fuel at a higher level so is the first to run out.

There inside the tank and will allow fuel to run through the same line to the carb

If it has reserve written on then most likely the one pipe you can see is the main and there isn't a small tube and it just has a second hole in the top of the tap that allows you to get at the last fuel, an awful lot of bikes only ran this system as accurate fuel gauges are almost impossible to do on bikes due to tank size and lack of digital speedos etc

Just run to the end of te main tank, switch to reserve and fill it up at the next opportunity, just don't forget to switch it back to main tank when you fill it as it very embarrassing when you go for the switch next time to find you have not put it back on main and now have no fuel at all lol

Re: ** Fuel Gauge **

You should also try to limit using the very last dregs in the tank as thats when you are more likely to start pulling any crud you may have in the bottom of the tank, best to fit a fuel filter between the tap and carb.
