Bike: Stomp demo 140
Starting up from cold

Hi everyone,,I have got for my son a stomp demon Xlr 140..... it's taking me about 15 mins to get it going from cold,,,coughs and splutters till I get it warmed up then it fine,,thought it was a carb problem so I bought a new one,,genuine as well,,,still the same,,,its driving me mad,, any ideas

Have you checked and set your valve clearances?
Also are you starting the kick from TDC?

It is always worth setting your valve clearances correctly but also Check the gap on your spark plug and also check the inlet manifold is sealing correctly both on the head end and carb end.

If you are running an open air filter set the pilot screw to about 3 turns ou, this should get you in the ball park to get the bike running.

was the carb pre set when you had it ,if so should be fine on this ,and as with the valves they say there set but are not at the right setting ,top valve .004 0.10mm and bottom .006 0.15mm
