Question lighting confusion

i want to wire up a headlight for some dusk riding and i'm confused.

I want to run the light straight from the stator and have 2 free wires, these then need to run to a regulator that will maintain it at 12v and then to the light yeah?

i have done some tests and the light dims with low revs with no regulator so is this what i need http://www.ooracing.com/store/index....productId=3380 ??

i dont want to run a battery but i don't want the light to dim when i drop revs

thank you

Re: lighting confusion

make sure your running a 5 wire high output stator. Problem with these kits are the lower number of coils generating the power, especailly at low and idle revs, an A\C system wouldnt give you stable current either.
I would run a D\C system that uses a battery but replace the batt with a high uF capacitor, this is about as good as it gets really. Your other option is to run 2 or 4 LED headlight witch would eliminate the power struggle being your not running a battery

Re: lighting confusion

Get an L.e.d headlight. The 20 l.e.d's on my headlight dont dim nomatter what. All the other lights dim at idle but visible eough for road use.

With street lighting i dont need to turn on the main bulbs as the l.e.d's are bright eough to reflect on road signs.
