Re: 110 3rd Gear Issue Help?
3rd gear is the weakest link on about all 107cc pitbike engines. commonly it 3rd gear looses teeths I.E landing on a jump with 3rd gear active under load drivetrain active.
the metal shavings commonly come from gearbox "running in". magnetic sump plug is a must have item from new, on a new engine starting from running in period and for whole lifespan of the engine.
if your Gear cogs are not rounded of or broken missing corners etc, then look into Gear Drum's movement that the Travel of the Drum is complite when activating 3rd gear.
also inspect all the metal pins taps on the gear selector drum.
on your photos all look good'ish, cannot see obvious fault or worn.....
You need to explain more clearly:
- does the 3rd gear Activate at all ?
- if it does Activate, does is stay ON at all ?
- if it does stay on, is there any difference when Changing into 3rd from 2nd or 4th gear ? (points into Gear drum travel..)
-are the selector Fork tips (tipend of the forks) in line ? not bend....
