What should I look out for when buying first MX Bike? It says no kick start could this be trying to hide a dodgy engine?

Re: Looking to buy this bike.

So if something was wrong with the engine or was on its way out you'd be able to tell by sound of it?

looks to be 96ish id say. check for any rattles, grinding, knocking, leaky forks/shock, numbers are all present, any buckles in the wheels & check compression. put it in gear & push it with the clutch out. if it moves easily its low on compression & due a piston/rings.

Re: Looking to buy this bike.

might wanna check if kick shaft has snapped off half way, as I jus bought a bike with no kick start, I needed to rebuild engine to fit new shaft, also engine casing was slightly cracked around where shaft had snapped off and kept leaking oil so ended up needing a new casing aswell.
