Well done Jenny. Its nice to see someone doing what we all should.
I've lost count of the number of warnings fines section 59's etc that I've had for riding on unused wasteland. Always with full riding gear, body armor, boots, helmet, gloves, goggles etc..
I know unused wasteland isnt a particularly official place to ride but im always respectfull to dog walkers, horse riders etc and turn my engine off as they pass.
When I was younger me and my bro would ride on this wasteland and sometimes the police would come on and check the bike wasnt stolen and that we have safety gear. if they were happy with the bike etc then they would say be carefull, have a nice day and off they'd go. Nowadays due to the idiots that ride through public parks, public places tearing past women pushing prams, elderly people out for a walk etc.... All leisure bikers have been tarred with the same bruch much like anyone that wears a hoodie and even the legit ones like you and me get a bo*^ock!ng and our bikes removed.
I was recently quad biking in saddleworth with 10 mates (some are 50+ years old all of us simply out for a ride) were subjected to 3 police cars 1 4x4 and the threat of a helicopter and we all got section 59's because some toss pot that seems to have it in for anyone on a motorised off road vehicle had been giving the police a running commentary from the moment we pulled up.
He had also told them that we had been pulling walls down??
WTF???
Anyway enough said. the council need to pull thier fingers out. we will all keep riding as much as they want to stop us they cant beat us so they might aswell join us.
Well done Jen.
