well the choke restricts air flow to richen up the mixture. That suggest to me a partially blocked pilot jet, idle set stupidly low or mixture incorrect?

well if its running on choke then its the mixture.
is it filter or air box?
is the carb clean inside?
fuel line kinked?

sorry ignored your last post, compression is good too.
i cleared both jets before i started etc. i have tried adjusting the mixture screw though but surely it should still idle?

filter is off
carb is clean
new fuel line, no kinks
