NMRRC 140 stock championship

Hi guys,

I'm new to the world of pit bikes but looking to enter next year's 140 stock championship. I'd like to buy a bike in the next month or do to get some practice time in before next uearyear starts.

I've been looking at the Demon DXR 140 from welsh pit bikes but have a few questions.

Is it race ready and will it be competitive out the box? (I'm aware i'll be the slowest but idI'd at least like a that is capable of winning).

What mods would be needed to use it on an mx track in the off season and is it time consuming to switch between supermoto and mx setups?

Sorry if these questions have been asked before. I've searched the forum but didntdidn't find any info that addressed these points.

Thanks in advance and hope to see some of you on the track in 2016.

Re: NMRRC 140 stock championship

best bet is to talk to alan lord of monster pro, his bikes are great out of the box, and ready to go. the bikes don't switch very well between super moto and mx, trust me I've tried it. basically all you will do is make it a bit crap for both.

Re: NMRRC 140 stock championship

I now have the UK dealership for both Monster Pro and IMR Racing bikes. Both very capable machines that come as competitive race ready packages out of the box.

The new IMR Corse Range is the same design as the Monster pro A frame bikes and starts at £1199 and like the Monster Pro comes with adjustable forks and shock, white mag wheels with PMT Slicks wide low fatbars, axle bobbins, footpeg sliders, catch tray, hand guards and drilled sumplugs.

The M Class Monster pro come with the GPX exhuast and is £1395

The new IMR Supercorser is a single arm swinger and same spec as above but crf70 size and comes in at £1295

All will be available on the website www.britishminibikes.com

They have all been designed for Tarmac Racing but can be converted to MX wheels etc but I doubt they would be very efficient on the dirt.

Im no expert on MX but your best bet if looking for something to do both would probably be one of the CW Bikes or Funbikes (M2R) as these were designed as MX bikes and have had the suspension and wheels etc converted. Both offer very good competitively priced bikes for both MX and SM use.

Re: NMRRC 140 stock championship

the suspension, geometry everything will be different. i won't be a good experience and it'll take a while to get it dirt ready then a few hours to change it back. I'm not trying to piss on your parade or anything but having a bike thats a compromise between the 2 is no fun. I've tried it and ended up making the decision to stay with dirt and then get another bike solely for supermoto.

Thanks for the quick reply.

Is there something similar to nmrrc's supermoto championship? I.e no mods, cheap, etc.

Re: NMRRC 140 stock championship

I'm not sure if you are referring to MX or supermoto with that last query?

there are two other supermoto championships in the UK for pit bikes, both have stock classes of near identical requirements.

http://www.britishminibikes.com/
http://www.fab-racing.co.uk/
https://www.facebook.com/BritishMiniBikeSupermoto

I race in NMRRC which is now www.Britishminibikes.com which I know is a bit confusing, but dont get muddled, the one I race in is tarmac only, so is Fab, but the bottom one on facebook races as part of NORASPORT big bike SM championship - which is cool, except they race on dirt too, which I really dont want to do (despite them having access to some tracks I would love to ride!)

Re: NMRRC 140 stock championship

Thanks for the info so far guys, i have decided to buy from britishminibikes.co.uk but am confused at the difference between the following bikes and prices. If it makes any difference i want a crf50 frame as I'm only 140lbs and 5'8". I could be persuaded to get a crf70 frame but as I've never sat on either, I'm inclined to go for the smaller bike.

IMR Racing Corse R 140 - £1,195
IMR Racing Super Corse R 140 - £1,295
Monster Pro M2 140 - £1,395
Monster Pro M4 140 - £1,495

Obviously i don't want to spend £300 i don't have to and since they're all stock bikes, shouldn't they be equal? Could someone explain the differences between these bikes as if i'm a 5 year old before i buy the wrong one.

Thanks in advance.
