Exclamation New pitbike clutch wont engage and drive HELP PLEASE

Hi guys, just wondering if anyone could help me here. I've installed a new clutch as my old one started to slip but now when i release the clutch level the bike doesn't pull its like its still in neutral. What I've noticed is the clutch cable wont let the actuator arm all the way back to bite BUT its the same cable I used before when it worked. Any help would be much appreciated.

what bike are we on about here?
2 possibilities can be
1. you didnt change the clutch correctly and left something out?
2. clutch needs adjustment.

If you think your mechanical skills are pretty top notch then it should just be a case of adjusting the clutch, you need to take all the slack out cable. try the adjustment on the casing, as well as the lever adjustment.

It's a Lifan 140 and I replaced everything like for like. I think its something to do with the adjustment but the adjuster on the casing is at its limit and it only just bites and then slips

One simple test is to undo the cable from the clutch lever, by completely disconnecting the cable.

Then, without starting the engine, put it in any gear.

If the bike just rolls you have problems but if the engine turns as you push the bike then your cable is either too short or fitted badly so a simple fix via a longer cable or adjustment
