Lifan 125 electric start engine tuning in an ATC70

Hi all

I'm looking to put a Lifan 125 electric start engine with manual clutch into my restored ATC70 trike

I want the thing to go like stink but still have an electric start as a kick start wont work with the rear wheel and fender

Dont want to bother with a pull start if possible either as I dont want to break my back starting it

Money isn't really a major issue

Machining and welding etc isn't really an issue either as I work for an engineering company

Was going to install a Z40 cam, port the head and do valve seat work, VM24 carb, Uni filter and big bore exhaust (32mm id)

Is this a good route to take with this engine?

I'd love to do a larger cc conversion but I've been told the piston pin size is diffferent to the lifan 140

I cant put a 140 crank in it either as I believe these are different too?

I could get the rod machined to from a 14mm to a 15mm pin size but would the 140 barell still fit my casing

Will the clutch and gears take the extra power?

What power can I expect with the different mods on a 125?

Any other ideas welcome?

There are some guys in the states running 190cc plus in these things with all the mods, must be scary lol

Would a VM26 be waisted on the 125 with headwork and cam?

Not running suspension, using OEM frame and forks

looking at getting the R55 frame kit eventually

Bike was bought of ebay, it looked like this when I started

Its 60% on its way to looking like this (most stuff has already been shot blasted and powder coated)

Using standard rims powder coated black

Some people use the 8 inch steel rims off the 110 or change the rear hubs to honda 4 stud and then you can take your pick

Doing most of the powder coating myself as I have a shot blasting cabinate and all the poder coating equipment

Do a search on the Glamis site and all will become clear on the rear hubs
