Biker from Notts

Hi,

Looking at getting into these, i currently own a Ducati 848 but that'll be sold soon to fund racing, but on the side i'd like to get one of these little monsters, there's a few tracks / places to ride around me locally so that shouldn't be a problem.

I guess i'll start learning and looking around, so i can find out what bikes to look at and which to avoid etc

Hi,

a bit of both to be honest, all my previous experience has been on tarmac but off road is something i'd like to have a go at.

I'm the same i'd like to do both but in all honesty with one bike it just doesn't work, the set ups are just too contrasting I've tried lol

Re: Biker from Notts

Isn't it just a case of having another set of wheels / tyres?

and maybe adjusting the gearing?

as i'm new to this i'm not aware of how much adjustment you get with the bike geometry etc to maybe better suit the off road style if required, unlike my 848 which is endless.

Re: Biker from Notts

you can do that but its unbelievably frustrating, the mx bikes have a high front end so you don't get any feeling when doing supermoto. I'm just gonna save a bit and get another solely for supermoto.

Re: Biker from Notts

ah i see, for the time being i'll concentrate on getting one for tarmac.

Doing a bit of reading around it seems recommended to avoid WPB.

I'd like a 160 motor but would prefer to spend under 1k, am i pissing in the wind ?
