Re: Perrini Leathers- Any good?

been in the bike trade for many years mate and i've never heard of them, doesn't mean they aren't good but i'd want to know exactly what they are made from and the stitch construction before i decided

although not in business in the UK anymore Teknic leathers are the best value for money and construction we ever came across

1.4/1.5mm thick leather (same as any rst, alpine stars etcetc...) Nylon duel stitching (As far as I know cotton stitching is better?)

Take a look http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...=p5197.c0.m619

Id never heard of them and reviews are few and far between... cant find reviews anywhere!

I decided to buy it for my brother as a birthday gift. He loves it. Fitted great and I like the simple sleek look of it all.

Whilst on this subject, what is a newbie like me looking for in leathers for maximum protection.
I had an idea of getting one of my normal leather jackets, buying body armour for underneath it and 2 pairs of jeans on with motorcycle boots, football shin pads and bmx knee pads plus helmet offcourse.
Advice on this is much appreciated as am new to biking.
P.s I cant see myself spending £200 on a leather suit so cheap options prefered.

I'm selling some Frank Thomas leathers for £90 posted. They are in good nick and cracking for the price 'if I do say so myself'.

Check out the eBay section for my link to item

Deadly serious buddy. I was hoping you would enlighten me on why it sounds like a silly idea as i think it would be okay, but then i've never had a proper fall of any motorcycle.
Like your frank Thomas leathers mate. Will concider items like that after i've established theres no cheaper way of being protected.

bmx sliders are designed for bmx's and football shin pads are designed for football added to the fact you'll look like a complete tool, but hey - it might work...

might as well save some more money, buy a push bike helmet, some football gloves and some football boots as well. probably be a bit cheaper than forking out on the proper stuff that's guaranteed to help protect you a bit..

Those guys have cheap protective gear down to a tee.

Re: Perrini Leathers- Any good?

spexx - look on ebay for leathers that some precious rich boy has dropped in a low spill - usually leading to a small scuff - or even better when they sell there bike for the next one and to their horror, their leathers no longer match

Means they flog decent leathers on ebay for WHEEEEY less than the retail price.

I;ve picked up full race suits for £30, with all the armour etc. Spend closer to £100-£200 and you can get some really nice suits in near mint condition.

Only thing you have to do, is try the set on first - cos not all size suits are the same across the brands. Hein Gerike in liverpool is a good place to try a few sets on.
