Re: Help about riding a pitbike

When i 1st started, i made sure i mastered the cluTch
After starting the bike in neutral, pull the clutch in and hold it in, Lift or drop your gear selector depending on your gearbox setup, The bike will jerk forward as a little confirmation of gear engaged, Pull the throttle a tiny bit to raise revs then slowly let the clutch out (slowly). As the bike starts to move keep your revs the same and control your speed using the clucth. When clutch is fully released, GUN IT!
Its easy, i'm self taught and on my 3rd ride i popped my 1st 2 foot wheelie lol.
P.s you got Kahoones riding a 160 as a 1st bike. My 125 gets my heart beating when its in 3rd, just pulls and pulls.

Send me the address for your local Orthapedic Ward and I'll send you a card now ready for your arrival

LOL, you've certainly thrown yourself in at the deep end. I've been riding bikes since I was about 6 I think, I starting on a TY 50. I've raced motocross in my teens and had loads of bikes throughout my life. I've just bought a KMX 140 and it is a handful when you want it to be. Potentially dangerous to a novice with no experience.

Just go careful on it at first

the best bit of info in this thread. The bike can only go as fast as you want it, take it easy till your confident and then start pushing it. No point trying to run befor you can walk

That's easy enough to say from an experience rider. But most inexperienced people don't understand throttle or clutch control, they dump the clutch, rev the nuts off the thing, panic and freeze up flying off at full throttle and crash.

Seen it many times.

Just dont ride it like a dick, just because the throttle goes all the way round doesnt mean you have to use it.

Take it easy, learn to feel the bike. Then when you feel confident enough open that bitch up!
