Right, how does this work?

Im 15 years old.
In the UK.
Someone is selling a EX ROAD LEGAL super moto / motocross.
He is 16 with a licence.
Do I need a licence to buy it? Can I put my name on the log book? Does it still have a log book if its a EX road legal?

I dont know how this works..
So before I ask the guy and possibly get mugged off and possibly illegally own a bike...
What do I need to do?

Its a Necht gy125

its a 125 so you can't legally ride it on the road until your 17 & do a cbt. i think you can have the logbook but be aware of road tax rules, why not just have a parent to sign for the logbook? whats the price? condition? I've search for them on google and personally i wouldn't touch one with a barge pole though. just my opinion

Stay away its a scrapper, if u want a half decent bike just save up, yes it may take some time bud but still least ur gonna get something that works and can actually have fun on instead of the 30 mins your getting out of things atm

Save up is best option pal

Buy enough bangers and you'll completely lose heart and never want to touch a bike again. Stay away from it and sort your bike.

Im in strood, kent... Far from bristol, ive actually bought the bike now, even after reading what u all said, its a decent bike, he had the log book in the end and its not as he described.. its fully working lights ect. batter works, electric start, kick start, spedo. everything works, he has the reciept for when it was last serviced at a shop, and the shop said it was good, nothing wrong with it basically. all together i paid 210 and my old pitbike.

apart from bit of rust here and there (surface rust) its mint.
im glad i went to look and bought it... all it needs is a front brake lever as i snapped it when i put the bike in my mates 4x4 pick up lol..

ill upload vids and pics soon if you dont mind?
