Cool Thumpstar Road Ripper Project

well i bought my bike for £480 a few weeks ago and after washing it found a few small problems. i stripped the bike down only to find that alot of the wiring was knackered and that paint was peeling from the frame and engine etc. this is where my project begins...

How i bought my bike...

this was alright but i feel that once the work to my bike has been completed it will look and run a whole lot better.

Here is my bike now...

comments will be appreciated and i will update when my new parts come (along with the better weather)

scott

UPDATE 11/03/09

got exhaust on along with air filter, folding levers, wiring is now near enough sorted. just gotta get the number plate bracket fabricated and put on and then im near enough done.

heres some updated pics (with the better weather i promised lol)

And its first sound test since i got the bike, still aint running right due to carb tho, an easy fix (sorry for black and white, camera settings got messed up!)

UPDATE 22.03.09

the bike is near enough sorted now, runs like a dream with the carb set up properly. just got to wait for the new indicator set coming and then some chain lube and im completely finished. gearbox is sweet as a nut and it doesnt backfire like before

pics:

cheers for the comments everyone. will be doing the boundary 500 sponsored classic ride on it in june for the air ambulance. if anyone else might want to do it as there is alot of stuff on, see www.boundary500.co.uk

all sponsors are for a good cause as you can see.

Re: Thumpstar Road Ripper Project

What card are you running? Get yourself a 22 vm mikuni for that.

Oh and your idle setting is way too high mate.
