1999 malaguti grizzly 50cc

I just bought my daughter her first bike a 1999 malaguti grizzly 50cc.

Not any history of work carried out over its lifetime, although it looks fantastic for its age.

I took it a test run the next day, to see how it compared to her cousins pw50.The thing fired up first kick, so I let it warn up for a few miminutes. It had plenty of pull in comparison with the pw. That's when I noticed, that at full throttle it isn't going that fast as it should. Its making plenty of rpm but just goes slow. I changed ATF,replaced plug,stripped and cleaned carb fully also emptied fuel tank out and cleaned filter. Its idel seems fine isn't bogging out just doesn't feel like the power is being disturbed to the wheel.

I'm no bike mechanic just have some basic knowledge so any help is welcome.

im not really sure whether it has this or not, its been over 25 years since we had a malagutti in the family, but lots of kids bikes have a screw in the throttle to limit it.
