Bike: M2r 160
M2r 160

Hi I was wondering if someone could help me, I have an m2r 160 and I've recently changed the swing arm so I can put a bigger back wheel on so I bought a new shock which was 295mm and that's far to big anyone got an idea of what size I need?

Re: M2r 160

seen this on the m2r's before, its an odd size for crf70. think he ended up using a 275mm. don't quote me on that though. does your old shock not fit?

Re: M2r 160

Well I had a dnr on it first I think that was either 360mm or 380mm, but then I wanted to put the big wheel on so tried a 295mm and that's way out the arm nearly touches the floor. I've just ordered a 250mm, do you think that might be wrong aswell then or?

Re: M2r 160

can I suggest you don't fit the big rear wheel? I don;t mean any offence, but your gonna ruin a perfectly good bike.

If you are determined to fit it, then do it properly, figure out (measure/calculate) what size you need to keep the geometry correct and chain reasonably positioned.

Have you tried to fit the rear wheel with the tyre on? You may find you dont have the clearance on the swingarm anyway.

Basically what you are doing will be a bodge, suspension geometry isn't impossible to do yourself, but its not something you do well by fitting a random sized part you fancy, and then modifying to suit
