Chain came off, no damage that i can see..

Normally id check the chain before going out riding, but today i had forgot,

I was just making my way back to the car on my bike when i could hear the chain rattling and knew id have to tighten it up soon,

but just as i was getting the bike to the car, the chain came off, i was in first gear and luckily just riding at walking pace,

I could see no damage to the chain or elsewhere it hadn't snapped just simply slipped off, i presume ive done no damage ? i got it back on and pushed it back to the car

its a standard stomp chain, i now know to tension the chain up before each use!

is it quite common to re-tension the chain up after say 2 hours riding ?

It will need adjusting every two hours riding for the rest of its life with the stomp chain, if you find it annoying id reccomend buying a renthal

I usually go over the bike before riding anyway, lubing the chain up etc so its not a big deal having to do it,

ive probably only had around 8 hours of riding on it from new so im guessing that will play a part in it too ?

as i say i was riding at walking pace and noticed it slip off right away, didnt hear any banging etc, everything looks fine,

another day, another lesson learnt !
