Re: New to pit bike supermoto racing were to go Burnley Lancashire area

Welcome!

It's great fun!

Three championships

NMRRC (now called British minibikes - http://www.britishminibikes.com/
Fab racing

both are tarmac only

and norasport who do a pit bike class in with the big SM - which has off road sections and jumps...(not for me )

Not many places to ride round our way, I;m in the North west too.

Blackpool let us on, buts not cheap and not a very good track.
Then you have to travel...

there is fatcats in doncaster, which let us on anytime in between arrive and drive karts
Rednal are going to start doing a practice day, but not yet (and dont call em t ask, they always say no!)
Stretton
Whilton
Kinsham
Teesside

Then your into 3+ hrs each way which I;m not going to bother listing...

Worth the travel though, just make sure your bike is working before getting there

You would be able to race in 160 class or Open class assuming you are an adult.

the link to one championship is in the post above, google the fab one, and the Norasport one with off road is only a facebook page (they are very new)

https://www.facebook.com/profile.php...720603&fref=ts

They are the only one to run three sisters, but they have cut out all the good corners for the dirt section IMO.

I think you are asking what makes a bike open?

check the regs as each one might be different but for NMRRC ( http://www.britishminibikes.com/ )
open is anything up to 200cc or 80cc two stroke, or a honda crf150r - 12" wheels max.

I race in 140 and open on the same bike, there is no minimum for racing in open, means I never do very well, but it's extra track time if practice goes wrong - plus its nice to beat bikes with nearly 3 x the BHP I am running
